After my recent review of the Beau Belle brushes, I thought I would dedicate this post to makeup brushes under £20, because it's incredibly hard to find good brush sets for budget prices. With most single brushes from bigger brands starting at that price, it's always nice to find a bargain that surprises you.
To ensure that I found you not only the best bargain, but brush sets with a variety of brushes and of course great reviews.
This of course not an exhaustive list, but it's a good start for anyone looking for an affordable set of brushes.
Here's my pick of some budget makeup brush sets I found under £20 on Amazon.
This is the cheapest of the brush set and at first I mistook it for the Real Techniques brushes which are double the price. The colours are almost identical but for only £7.99 for this 6 piece brush set, I think that's a good deal!
Unlike other brush sets, it actually tells you which brush is which and you get a flat head foundation brush, rounded brush, bronzer brush, angled flat brush and a paddle shaped brush. This set would be ideal as cheap travel set if you didn't want to sacrifice your more expensive brushes when on the go.
How adorable is this 12 piece brush set? Not only do you get 12 brushes, but it comes with a pretty pattern case that wouldn't look out of place in any makeup bag. This set would be a good set for international travel, so even if you lose one brush, it's not going to make you cry as much as if you lost your very expensive brushes at home.
I heard this tip from Irene Sarah that she never travels with expensive makeup simply because if it gets taken away at customs or lost, it's not such a big issue. I'd advise keeping a list of all your colours in each brand as a note on your phone to make sure if any of your makeup goes bye-bye, you can still get a replacement shade to save the day.
This set is another Emax Design set, again with 12 pieces, but these are more kabuki like and doesn't include the fan brush in the set above or the thin eyeliner brush, but it's still a good set for beginners.
It comes with a little bag to keep your brushes together, but personally I think you can find some much cuter ones that are a little more sturdy.
The last of my recommendations comes with this gorgeous luxe brush holder in a rose gold colour. I think 12 is the magic number when it comes to makeup brush sets, but this is the higher end of the scale. This would make such a great gift for a makeup lover or even as a present for yourself!
I'd totally take this on holiday or even as a second set of brushes to a makeup job for bigger client needs, as sometimes the brushes just don't dry in enough time when you're running around like a headless chicken. It's better to be over prepared than not at all.
Plan to fail, fail to plan!
