May 2016 Update
I can't believe May has finished so quickly, and we're not into June. CRAZY! I have a lot to catch you up on, so let's get cracking!
May has been a full throttle month for me. I've continued posting 3 times a week and while my blog stats didn't get to 1,000 views a month like they did in April, I'm still happy at the consistency of growth we've achieved since last month.
I also stopped sending out my e-mail newsletter as frequently, which you may have noticed if you're subscribed. Until I can find something USEFUL to send out on it, I'm not going to focus on it. I want to get more subscribers to my blog before I start churning out posts, because believe it or not, the same thought goes into writing those newsletter updates as it does on my blog posts.
I created my first FREE checklist for new makeup artists who are doing their first client consultation to take the nerves out of the whole process.
In May, some of my social media numbers skyrocketed and others stayed the same. I also managed to hit a personal goal on one of my social media accounts.
My Facebook follower numbers have stayed the same. I'm still sharing most of my own content, but I try and share relevant articles as well in between to keep things interesting. Facebook is my least popular platform so honestly, I'm not too worried about it.
I have 13 followers still this month, which hasn't moved from last month.

Twitter has slowed down a bit this month, but I think that's because so many people are going on holidays or gearing up for holidays, so it's not as social as it was last month.
I gained 9 new followers, which puts me up to 159 followers this month.

Pinterest is STILL my main referrer this month, which is kind of incredible as I don't go on it as much. What I have done differently this month is signed up for BoardBooster as my free trial expired, and I am getting a lot of re-pins from my boards and on group boards. I'm also automatically sharing new posts straight to my account through Squarespace.
I try and pin quality Pins that are useful and have an immediate response, but in the new smart feed, it's kind of hard to find content that is actually relevant I haven't pinned before. I'm planning to do a series of more technical posts as I try and continue to understand the business side of social media.

Instagram has finally hit my personal goal of 300 followers! I was so close and then a bunch of people unfollowed me, and now I'm at 309! My next goal is to get to 400 followers in the next few months.
I'm sharing my new posts within a couple of days of posting and hashtagging like a boss. I also make sure to take the time to engage with the community, like the people who've liked my pictures and leave relevant comments if it's appropriate.
What's interesting is that my Instagram referrals have gone down but I've got more followers which is crazy, but I'd rather have an engaged audience then get people who are just checking out my blog and leaving.

Goal for June
June is packed at the beginning, and then I have no idea what will happen.
In the 1st week of June, I'll be attending IMATS in London (Let me know if you're going! I need friends, I'm actually terrified!). After that, I have no plans apart from getting ready for Ramadan.
I'll be slowing down my posting schedule to maybe twice a week, but most likely once a week as I concentrate on this holy month. The fasts this year for us in the UK are LONG, so I don't think I'll have as much energy as I normally do, which is why I'm going to try and schedule as much as I can beforehand so that it doesn't affect your reading experience.
Experimenting with slow blogging to see if it affects my numbers at all, or if they dip down if I start posting only once a week.
