Kiko Soft Focus Concealer (Review)

The Kiko Soft Focus Concealer seems like a great dupe for higher end concealers, but does it live up to the hype?

Kiko is a budget makeup company from Italy that is taking the UK by storm. Their pocket friendly prices and high-tech formulas seem to be a hit.

The Soft Focus Concealer is described as:

A concealer pen created to give brightness to different areas of the face, minimizing dark under-eye circles and fine lines.

The hyper-technological formula offers multiple and immediately visible benefits: the soft focus agents cancel the appearance of wrinkles with an instant lifting effect; the special volatile silicones “fill” the creases of the wrinkles, smoothing the skin’s surface with a redensifying effect; the white tea extract - with antioxidant and decongestant properties - illuminates the skin colour for a more rested, youthful appearance.

Its rich and comfortable texture reveals a remarkable lightness during application, made even easier by the flat bristle applicator brush.

The precious Soft Focus Concealer formula is contained in an elegant silver pen with a “click” dispenser providing the ideal quantity of product.

I colour matched myself to Shade No. 2 (Natural) in the Kiko store in Westfield, White City. Retailing at only £7.50 and with 4 available shades, this would be suitable for fair/medium skin tones. I couldn't see anything for darker skin tones in this range.

In terms of application, it comes in a click pen applicator that can be brushed onto the skin. I find the click pen really annoying and it always comes out with too much product which ends up spilling on my clothes or the floor.

The application is pretty smooth, and it does live up to its illuminating properties, but it tends to fade after an hour or so.

Would I recommend this? Honestly, no.

I think the problem is the click pen and thin formula. If you're looking for a long-lasting formula then this isn't it.

What's your favourite budget concealer?
