I'm a huge fan of facials, but with a busy life it's not always easy to actually do one and since my skin has been suffering lately, I decided to take a tip from Belle Mocha, and do my facial routine when I had some time to get ready before meeting some friends this weekend.
Typically you would do a facial when you have nothing going on that day and can really benefit from the results, and normally I would do this too, but why let those results go to waste and instantly get that glow like you've had hours and hours of sleep and hydration, even if you haven't?
I read this article in November, and finally got to put it to the test over the weekend, and conveniently I filmed it for you.
So, to do the mini facial, you will need at least 45 minutes to an hour, so not one to do if you're in a rush but if you have a little time to get ready.
I cleansed with my usual Cleanser which at the moment is Good Things Pore-fectly Clear Face Wash. I mean I like it, but I don't love it.
The next step is to exfoliate to get the dead skin cells out. I'm using my Dermalogica exfoliater which I've had for a long time, as as you can see in the video, is pretty much finished!
If you don't want to shell out for that, I'd recommend the Naturyl Glow Sun Inspired Face mask/scrub I reviewed which is less pricy but you can combine the masking and scrub element to save time and money with.
3) Face Mask
4) Sheet Mask
I found this Sheet Mask in TK Maxx, but you can use any sheet mask as the principle is to hydrate your skin immediately after the clay mask to replenish all the moisture as well as the gunk that has been sucked out of it.
When you take the sheet mask off, massage the serum into your skin to really hydrate, don't wash the good stuff off!
You'll see an immediate glow in your skin like you've been drinking gallons of water.
If you're going out then under makeup your skin will have the most amazing glow, and if you're staying in, take the time to hydrate yourself with lots of water for an even more amazing glow!
For me personally, this is the perfect pre-pamper ritual before meeting friends or date night with my husband.
